INTERNET DATABASE OF EUROPEAN PhD PROGRAMMES IN BIOMEDICINE AND HEALTH SCIENCES

The organisation of doctoral training in Europe is fragmented with hundreds of schools of medicine conferring doctoral degrees and having, however, better links with the US than with similar schools of medicine in neighbouring countries. Doctoral candidates in Europe might find almost impossible to obtain even basic information about doctoral programmes outside her / his own country. In contrast to that, medical research is a global process. Even the elite League of European Research Universities (LERU) admits that "there is no scientific milieu which does not need to look beyond its boundaries".

A collection of names, same basic characteristics, and links to European PhD programmes in biomedicine and health sciences is here with a clear aim to facilitate collaboration and mobility with the final aim to increase quality of our PhD programmes.
